Kristen Stewart has been a Chanel ambassador since 2015 – but this is surely our fave moment in the collaboration. The exalted fashion house’s Spring-Summer 2020 Ready-to-Wear campaign, by Creative Director Virginie Viard, has arrived ahead of the collection appearing in stores (which will be this coming Monday, February 24), and the Jean Baptiste Mondino images are truly, audaciously sexy.
To be sure, the perpetually provocative actress (whose latest flick Underwater was released in January, and who is currently filming Happiest Season with Veep / The Handmaid’s Tale director Clea DuVall) is sporting rather anarchic locks, which flop down and rise up seemingly effortlessly.
In the accompanying video, Stewart explains, “There was a kind of radicality, going into it, the clothes were like a gasping breath. We really do need to feel light right now, we need to feel like we can run right now, as women—and these clothes make that feel possible. Virginie’s a punk rocker!”
And she seems nothing less than earnest when she enthuses, “Not just saying this, I genuinely would wear everything that I put on to shoot the campaign. I would run around the block in them.”
So, yes, do keep an eye out for Kristen Stewart, running about wildly in head-to-toe Chanel.
