“Arrested Development” Back For Another Season?

In case you came to the site, saw the headline and thought there was a gliche causing 2006’s headlines to appear with today’s date, don’t worry. It’s right and I’m not talking about the spiritual 90’s alternative hip hop group of the same name. The banana stand looks set to rise again giving those worn out DVDs of yours a rest. Taste the happy!

Today, during a panel discussion for the New Yorker Festival featuring the entire cast and creator Mitch Hurwitz, it was announced there would be another season.

From the New Yorker Twitter feed: “Mitch Hurwitz says he plans limited Arrested Development series (9-10 eps, 1 character per ep) that would lead into movie.”

Still have doubts? Will Arnett followed it up by Tweeting: “I’m peeing with @batemanjason at the moment..and we can confirm that we are going to make new AD eps and a movie.”

Doing it by character per episode could change the dynamic and make things a bit strange but it will allow the actors to continue on with projects they are currently involved in. It will also get fans caught up on what’s happened to their favorite characters. Did George Michael ever resolve his feelings for his cousin? Has Gob reached dominance in the magic industry? Did Buster leave the nest? Did Lindsay divorce Tobias? And will Liza Minelli be making a comeback in one of the episodes as the lovable neighbor with vertigo,Lucille 2? So many questions.

A movie has been rumored for years, so hopefully, even if they don’t ever get that off the ground, they will be able to make the new episodes happen.
