Wanna get in the Christmas spirit but sick of the same old tree, and cruddy ornaments you’ve used for the past 20 years?
Here’s an idea. Take a page out of Ms. Victoria Beckham and artist Shirazeh Houshiary’s book and turn that thing on it’s head. No angel on the top this year.
“In a playful subversion of the tradition of decorating trees to celebrate the festive season, I have chosen to focus on the natural qualities of the tree itself, exposing the root and coating it in red pigment. By turning the tree upside down and suspending it above the stairwell, it appears as if floating — its roots freed from their earthly constraints and the intricate beauty of their form revealed. The use of pure red pigment lends the roots radiance and illuminates that which is normally concealed,“ Houshiary said.
Houshiary first created a work similar to the one made in collaboration with Beckham 21 years ago at the Tate; through this collaboration, she foundrenewed inspiration to work with the architecture of the Victoria Beckham store to recreate and expand upon her work in a new space and with new dimension.
Should you be lucky enough to be in London, a. I’m super jealous, and b. head to 36 Dover Street to check out the temporary installation at VB’s flagship shop.
Today marks World AIDS Day, a day of awareness that has occurred annually on December 1st since 1987. The diseases has claimed the lives of 36 million globally and an approximated additional 35 million live with the HIV virus. Even if you don’t have an extra dime to your name you can help raise and spread awareness today.

HBO’s new documentary (and a 2013 Sundance selection) The Battle of Amfar examines the unlikely collaboration between Liz Taylor and research scientist Dr. Mathilde Krim, who co-founded Amfar, the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
Victoria Beckham lends her brand name to this fundraising tee-shirt which features a screen-printed World AIDS Day red ribbon logo, inspired by a bold paintbrush stroke. The T-shirt is $140 and available now at Beckham’s London store, and victoriabeckham.com.
The ever beloved Prince Harry recorded this heartwarming video for the cause.
The video also serves as a launch for the new #feelnoshame campaign, a part of Sentebale, a charity founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.
This isn’t a one-day affair but it is a particularly appropriate day to buy a lipstick from MAC’s Viva Glam collection, currently a collaboration with Rihanna, from which 100% of the proceeds go to “helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.”

The autumn ’14 clothes are flowing in across the board. Have you picked up a winter coat yet? If not, you’re late.

We could simply justify our appreciation for David Beckham with the fact that his significant other and mother to his four children is Posh Spice, but he’s so much more than that.
Just a year shy from 40, Becks not only kicks the soccer ball around well, he also fills out a pair of David Beckham for H&M Body-wear like a pro. His kids love him because apparently playing with Legos with them is therapeutic for him; we love him because he’s one of the spiffiest Brits around; and his wife loves him because… well, you can figure that one out by yourself (and it has something to do with what’s in those briefs.)
So here’s to you Mr. Beckham, may your day be filled with balls (of the soccer variety) and way too many Pimm’s cups!

Star of many talents Victoria Beckham turns 40 today. The pop-star turned legit fashion designer and businesswoman has many accomplishments under that Hermès alligator belt of hers. May the next 40 years be just as fabulous as the first.
I’ll never forget and have yet to fully recover from my first breakup. Sure, it’s been nearly two decades. And I was a (not-fully-realized gay) tween. But you’d be perma-traumatized too if your spirit animal/other half/soul sis/etc. called it quits. It was May of 1998 and I had once again snuck downstairs onto my father’s computer to get my daily dose of inappropriate chat rooms and jamming the printer from my Xena: Warrior Princess print-a-thons. I was computer banned after my family blamed me for the Gateway 2000’s slew of Trojan Horses. But my other half always taught me to make my own rules, to believe in Girl Power! Pro platforms and anti-panties! To pinch Prince Charles’ bum! During my tween years, hearing AOL’s “You’ve Got Mail!” (actually, I learned how to customize it to be my own .WAV file, which meant mine was the opening platform-stomping/giggle bit of the Spice Girls’ iconic smash, “Wannabe”,) usually provided euphoria, but on this dark day, I squealed as if my hamster died. The AOL inbox subject line read: “Ginger Spice calls it quits!”
Yeah, the bitch broke up with me via email.
I hid my Union Jack dress-clad Ginger Spice doll (still in its case!) behind Sean John hoodies in the corner of my closet. I discontinued my very own “e-newsletter” aka ‘The Spice Gazette’ complete with a typo-ridden (I WAS 12!) dramatic exit letter. And I went back to that grating “You’ve Got Mail!” sound default. In other words, this was my life:
But, as Scary Spice croons on the Spice Girls’ RIP Ginger tribute (“Goodbye”), “Look for the rainbow in every storm!” YAS BITCHES: ‘Twas a Spice World once again in 2007 with the gals’ worldwide reunion tour. All was right in the world. Especially the tour costumes designed by Roberto fucking Cavalli, apparently secured by the now fashion world heavyweight Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham.
But then, heartbreak #2 happened. It started at the 2012 Olympics with the Spice Girls “surprise” performance, which resulted in a viral GIF of Scary, Baby, Ginger, Sporty bouncing around like school girls at recess whilst a resting-bitch-face Posh Spice strutted to the side away from them. Friendship never ends, Vicky?
Then there was the premiere of the short-lived Spice Girls musical, Viva Forever, in which Vicky passed on a group photo with her bandmates on the red carpet and opted to arrive late with her hubby and kids for a non-smiling family portrait. Mrs. Beckham officially put a high heel in my heart in January when confirming she’d NEVER reunite with the Spice Girls again via her Vanity Fair Italy cover story. I’m not so sure about this “first cut is the deepest” shit. Once again, I am bloody gutted.
C’mon Vic: give us what we want, what we really, really want. (And not those expensive fucking dresses, dammit.) Posh might want to forget about the BEST YEARS OF HER EXISTENCE, but I’m here to remind her why she’ll always be a Spice Girl. My heart is very forgiving. Come back to us. Please.
Okay. Here’s the best #TBT you’ll ever witness: The Spice Girls circa ‘94/95 (??) pre-fame and performing at a showcase. Posh’s vocals (and that Adidas t-shirt) slay!!!
Posh hasn’t smiled since Spice World. I wonder why???
Here’s the ONLY time Victoria was on the cover of American Vogue. #FunFact
She’s not that innocent. (POSH SPICE SOLO CAREER!!!!)
Um. Do we remember Posh for Rocawear?!
Also, remembs when Posh was FUNNY?
I’d like to thank Victoria for teaching me how to talk/sing/seduce with my hands.

2011 was the year of youth style. From tween actors like Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld, to bloggers like Tavi Gevinson, the fashion world was openly enthralled with said sartorial wunderkinds, documenting their fashion sense just as thoroughly as they would for Kate Moss and Chloë Sevigny. Leading the pack was the offspring of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Suri Cruise. While the five-year-old stylesetter was last year’s tot to envy, there’s a new kid on the block that’s quickly giving Cruise a run for her money–and she’s only five months old.
On July 10, 2011, Victoria and David Beckham welcomed their first baby girl, Harper Seven. This certainly filled a void in the pop star turned fashion designer’s life because, although she has enjoyed styling her three sons in cute little man outfits for years, it was time that Posh Spice had her very own Mini-Me to match ensembles with. As Grazia thoroughly documents in today’s Harper Seven style spotlight, the girl can’t even stand on her own two feet yet and she’s already rocking Stella McCartney and Chloe.
While Harper Seven is poised to be this year’s best-dressed baby, this is all child’s play until the real fashion phenom arrives: Beyonce and Jay-Z’s first born.
