The Man Repeller’s Shopbop Wish List

Another Shopbop wish list from their “Fashion Insider” series has popped up, and this time it’s with Leandra Medine, the mastermind behind the desexifying fashion revolution, The Man Repeller. Coining terms like “Yeshiva Chic” and “Birth Control Glasses,” we really had no choice but to become absolutely addicted to the 21-year-old’s hilarious take on the latest trends. For those of us wanting to expand our anti-guy-arousing wardrobe, check out her wish list here, which includes gems like the See by Chloe Quilted Cape, the Jenni Kayne Leather T-Shirt, and the LNA Open Elbow Long Dress.

This Charlotte Ronson Pleated Ruffle Dress she also picked is questionably pretty, but it’s nothing a little awkward layering can’t fix.

Knight Cat’s Shopbop Wish List

One of my go-to blogs for style insight is Knight Cat, created by college student Cat Khan. What was first a personal site she created simply to keep track of inspirational images, is now a reference tool for millions of fashion devotees across the globe. Based on the core focus of celebrating fashion imagery, her site is mostly all pictures with little to no commentary. But not just any pictures—the girl has a sharp eye for emerging talent and on-the-verge trends. And as her list of followers grows, the industry is starting to take note. Now Shopbop has tapped Khan to select her favorite merchandise in their online boutique. In true Knight Cat fashion, her picks include smart basics, edgy updates of classic pieces, lots of leather, and must-have accessories.

A few favorites are the Alexander Wang – Constance Platform Booties, the Karen Walker – Helter Skelter Sunglasses, the Luv Aj – Fool’s Gold Knuckle Buster Ring, and obviously the Helmut Lang – Square Shoulder Shearling Jacket.

Last month Alisa Gould-Simon introduced you to our latest blog obsession, The Man Repeller, an oft-updated site of creator Leandra Medine’s daily outfits and fashion musings, all based around the styles and looks that women love but inevitably deter men. Today she’s posted a guide to her top five online boutiques that epitomize the concept of man-repelling. From harem pants to turbans to tailcoats, it’s every girl’s dream, and every guy’s worst nightmare.

In no particular order, Medine lists the following favorites: Forward by Revolve, Shopbop, Pixie Market, Nasty Gal, and Cuffs. From the casual to the most serious of man repellers, Medine has you covered—she’s been in the man-repelling business for years and her game is sharp.
