Last week heads were scratching over claims made under oath by Sam Lufti, Britney Spears’ sleazy ex-manager, that he was at work on a Nirvana musical with Courtney Love. Not so, says Courtney Love herself.
Lufti had said he was "currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue, based on [Love’s] life and Kurt Cobain’s.” However, outside the courtroom, when pressed by reporters, he said it was just "an idea."
Speaking to the UK’s Guardian‘s Observer magazine, Courtney Love denies it was even that. "There will be no musical," Love said. "Sometimes it’s best just to leave things alone." She added that she even coined the term "to Baz someone" over her regrets at letting Baz Luhrmann use eight seconds of the song Smells Like Teen Spirit in Moulin Rouge (although that sore spot seems to be more from not getting a part in the film).
Good to hear that Courtney Love is lucid enough to realize a grunge musical would be a bad, bad idea.
