We love us a good YouTube video, so you can imagine our delight when we came across this gem. Jay-Z’s Life + Times webzine recently teamed up with fashion photographer and film director Justin Wu to enlist a bevy of runway models like Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss (pictured) to lip sync the rapper’s NYC love letter “Empire State of Mind.” The video is brilliantly executed and all participating models are surprisingly spot-on in their performances – especially Constance Jablonski at 1:57. Watch it all after the jump.
And while you’re at it, watch some of Wu’s other fashion film offerings, including an easy-on-the-eyes lip-dub by the boys of fashion week, here.
It’s unclear why this exists, but here’s a video of the “Boys of Fashion Week” lipsynching their hearts out to Elvis’ “A Little Less Conversation.” Inevitable Zoolander comparisons aside, this is adorable – much like Justin Wu’s strikingly similar video from last season. Watch the Boys boogie in Paris and Milan, backstage and on the runway, in their model house (literally what looks like a house full of male models), in groups and alone. Some of them look to be maybe sixteen, all of them have superhuman bone structure, and a few of them seem to have actually concocted little dance routines for this.
Like internet cat videos, male models are adorable. This video Justin Wu made for Jak&Jil captures the boys of Paris and Milan fashion week having a grand old time, minus all the Zoolander angst we so often associate them with (“I’m sorry that good-looking people like us made you throw up and feel bad about yourself”). More fun than a kitten tangled up in yarn, the boys sing, in classic lipdub form, the Dandy Warhol’s song “Bohemian Like You,” showing us that there’s more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking.
