David Beckham Announces His New Long Term Relationship

David Beckham has elected to renew his vows with retailer H&M. Though we all hoped, privately or otherwise, that he might reconsider a lasting love with each of us, we’re very pleased to see more of the man, and H&M is granting our wish. Think more of Beckham’s Bodywear, of which a new collection launches for Spring, and also the continuation of Modern Essentials Selected by David Beckham. Beckham is picking what you’ll be wearing, guys, and modeling it for all of us.

Both collections will be available in store on March 5.

Exits, Returns, and Debuts: The Fashion News You Need to Know

1. Peta Protests Men’s Woolmark Prize

While Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow were celebrating another big win for their line Public School, PETA protestors (in the form of three vegan male models, carrying a replica of a bloody sheep carcass and signs, wearing synthetic sweaters,) protested the use of wool, pointing to a study that showed severe mistreatment of the animals in Australia. Woolmark contests these claims.

2. H&M & Coachella Collaborate

Festival attire inspires an Instagram frenzy and countless blog posts each year, so H&M decided to make it official with a collaboration with Coachella inspired by the classic American festival aesthetic.

3. Isabel Marant Casts Natasha Poly

Isabel Marant’s new campaign explores the female’s feline side, with hair inspired by a lioness and a decidedly playful characterization for model Natasha Poly, who, Marant told WWD, has a lot of different characters and we knew she would play the game.” The playful campaign was shot by fashion faves Inez & Vinoodh.

Pringle is celebrating it’s 200th anniversary in a deservedly big way. The brand will debut a major exhibition called “Fully Fashioned: The Pringle of Scotland Story” at the Serpentine Gallery during London Fashion Week. In addition, the show will feature new campaign images will be presented, shot by Albert Watson of Scottish figures including Stella Tennant, David Shrigley and Luke Treadaway as well as a collaboration with Michael Clark Dance Company. Finally, Pringle will introduce, Deconstructed, a customizable service allowing shoppers to add a personal touch to their cashmere purchases. 

5. Frida Giannini’s Left Gucci Earlier Than Expected

We knew Frida Giannini was leaving Gucci, we just didn’t know how soon that would be. Apparently, Giannini left last week, a full month earlier than anticipated. According to WWD, sources say Giannini was asked to leave the company last Friday, rather than after her Fall women’s show on February 25th, as originally planned. It is believed this is a result of efforts to speed up the company’s process for upcoming decisions regarding creative direction for the company.

6. Viviane Sassen for 3.1 Phillip Lim

First of all, 3.1 Phillip Lim is verging on it’s 10-year-anniversary, which is insane! To celebrate, the brand returned to ideas Lim views as essential to its DNA, bucking convention by eschewing hair and makeup, and heading to Morocco with art photographer Viviane Sassen for a shoot based around the theme “Romancing Reality.”

7. Kim Kardashian Lands Vogue Australia Solo Cover

Though we can’t help but wonder if she’ll ever land the U.S. cover spot on her own, this cover adds more fuel to Kim’s fashion fire. We know we have her coming up soon clad in Prada on the cover of LOVE, and her ad campaign for Balmain just launched. When Kim sets out to become a fashion icon, you better believe she’s gonna get it done.

8. Cathy Horyn is Back

It turns out her exit from The New York Times after 15 years was not a final bow. The famed critic will join The Cut as critic-at-large, starting with the fast-approaching February shows.

9. Adidas Questions the Meaning of “Superstar”

Rita Ora, Pharrell Williams, David Beckham, and basketball player Damian Lillard come together in this video to make probing and skeptical claims about what it means to be a superstar (“If you think a superstar is people wanting to know where you are, who you’re with, and reading about what you had for breakfast, or caring about what you wear to an event…”) –while wearing the athletic brand’s classic 1969 sneaker of the same name.

H&M fall 2013 campaign

We could simply justify our appreciation for David Beckham with the fact that his significant other and mother to his four children is Posh Spice, but he’s so much more than that.

Just a year shy from 40, Becks not only kicks the soccer ball around well, he also fills out a pair of David Beckham for H&M Body-wear like a pro. His kids love him because apparently playing with Legos with them is therapeutic for him; we love him because he’s one of the spiffiest Brits around; and his wife loves him because… well, you can figure that one out by yourself (and it has something to do with what’s in those briefs.)

So here’s to you Mr. Beckham, may your day be filled with balls (of the soccer variety) and way too many Pimm’s cups!

David Beckham + A Lot Of Leather = Belstaff Spring Campaign

If you needed another reason to start planning the road trip that’s been on your YOLO list since, well forever, click play on this video immediately.

David Beckham, as ambassador to cult fashion label Belstaff, is filmed zipping through the English countryside, clad head-to-toe in leather (of course), with his gang of equally handsome biker chums. The group wears get-ups typical for the brand that made its name in traditional outerwear. Think shrunken moto-jackets, loose-fit leather pants, and biker boots.

Peep the David Beckham x H&M Commercial That Aired During the Super Bowl

While Madonna’s Givenchy-happy halftime show was certainly a highlight of yesterday’s Super Bowl, we were also pretty hyped to see H&M’s $3.5 MM commercial for their Bodywear collection with David Beckham. As we hoped, the ad features Beckham’s body in all of its athletic glory, which was a nice reprieve from the actual game and a heck of a lot more interesting than most of the Super Bowl aired that day. Harper Seven is the Suri Cruise of 2012

2011 was the year of youth style. From tween actors like Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld, to bloggers like Tavi Gevinson, the fashion world was openly enthralled with said sartorial wunderkinds, documenting their fashion sense just as thoroughly as they would for Kate Moss and Chloë Sevigny. Leading the pack was the offspring of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Suri Cruise. While the five-year-old stylesetter was last year’s tot to envy, there’s a new kid on the block that’s quickly giving Cruise a run for her money–and she’s only five months old.   

On July 10, 2011, Victoria and David Beckham welcomed their first baby girl, Harper Seven. This certainly filled a void in the pop star turned fashion designer’s life because, although she has enjoyed styling her three sons in cute little man outfits for years, it was time that Posh Spice had her very own Mini-Me to match ensembles with. As Grazia thoroughly documents in today’s Harper Seven style spotlight, the girl can’t even stand on her own two feet yet and she’s already rocking Stella McCartney and Chloe.

While Harper Seven is poised to be this year’s best-dressed baby, this is all child’s play until the real fashion phenom arrives: Beyonce and Jay-Z’s first born.

H&M’s First-Ever Super Bowl Commercial Will Star David Beckham

While five-month-old Harper Seven Beckham has already taken the fashion world by storm by outshining Suri Cruise, let’s not forget about her equally influential parents. David Beckham has been selected to be the focus of H&M’s first Super Bowl commercial, which will advertise the athlete’s Bodywear collaboration with the Swedish fast-fashion retail chain. 

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the network is charging a whopping $3.5 million per 30-second ad during the show, so selecting to promote Beckham’s body was a wise choice for H&M, if they really want to get their money’s worth. 

The David Beckham Bodywear collection launches in stores on February 2 and features men’s briefs, trunks, boxers, T-shirts, tank tops and pajama bottoms. Tune in to Super Bowl XLVI on NBC on February 5 to catch the ad.

Let’s Just Watch David Beckham Do Stuff in His Underwear

I don’t know what it’s like at your office today, but here most of our officemates all talking about Beyoncé tickets. ("My day is ruined," one person has already sighed now that the show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center is sold out.) Meanwhile, I’m having a great time watching this behind-the-scenes clip from David Beckham’s upcoming H&M underwear campaign directed by Guy Ritchie. I don’t even particularly like either David Beckham or Guy Ritchie. But you know what? It’s early in the day, and I’ll take what I can get.

David Beckham Running Around in His Underwear is Trending

Both the blogosphere and Twitterverse went haywire this afternoon when photos surfaced of David Beckham frolicking around Beverly Hills wearing nothing but H&M underwear. The Huffington Post called it an "early Valentine’s Day gift." Grazia called it "droolsome." E! called it "sexy." It is all of those things.

The 37-year-old athlete and husband to Victoria Beckham shot his latest David Beckham Bodywear at H&M campaign with filmmaker Guy Ritchie (aka Madonna’s ex husband). Becks is apparently playing an action hero in the new campaign, which debuts globally on February 6th. "I hope everyone has as much fun watching the film as I had making it," the star tells E!. So do we, David. So do we.
