Get on Instagram for Audacious New NARS Lippy

Via

Never enough NARS is what I say. So I was pretty excited to hear about FORTY (count ’em) new shades the company’s just released under the line AUDACIOUS.

And what’s better than new lipstick? New lipstick that’s free.

The 40 colors break down into six categories: nude, pink, coral, red, violet, and wine–modeled gorgeously by Charlotte Rampling in the campaign.

So you wanna get your hands on some? Here’s what you do: Get on Instagram (obviously!), snap a selfie, and #hashtag #NARSissist plus #thecolorfamilyyourewearing (i.e. #wine). (See all the official rules here.)

Six winners (one from each category) will win the whole range of their color category–that’s up to eight colors. Ready, set, ‘GRAM.

Party Venue Matchmaker VenueTap Launches VIP Contest

We’re all looking for a matchmaker – someone to guide us toward the perfect fulfilling job, studio apartment, relationship. Why? Because we want the solutions to our problems, and we want them quick. And when we want to throw an unforgettable party but don’t know where and how, that’s when the easiest matchmaker of all comes into play: the internet, with website VenueTap.

Featured in CNBC and Reuters, and from the founder of MyClean.com, VenueTap makes it so you don’t contend with slow-moving word-of-mouth and unresponded-to emails to venue managers. Instead, you just hop online, fill in your reason for partying (30th birthday, high school band reunion, etc.), how many guests you’re expecting, and let VenueTap’s customized search engine of New York venues do the rest of the work.

And this week, VenueTap is launching a contest where the winner will receive these five wonderful things:
– A free, private VIP party at a venue for you and 30 of your friends
– Three bottles of vodka
– Table service
– Waitress service
– and mixers

The one thing you don’t get: a whole lot of hassle.

To enter the contest, all you do is sign up here to be a VenueTap Insider between now and Thursday the 24th. At the end of the seven-day raffle, a name will be announced… and I hope it’s yours. Or mine.
No, definitely mine.

Be Creative, Win $500, Eat 16 Handles Frozen Yogurt

Yes, it’s the sweetest deal to speak of. 16 Handles, New York’s first self-serve frozen yogurt franchise, has introduced a new machine at their East Village and new Greenwich Village shops that blends your perfect cup of yogurt. Still in trials, this machine mixes your favorite flavors and toppings into a 16 oz. cup and serves it to you all swirled and blended – just like a McFlurry – except it’s a blend of all the things you chose and love. And the machine is called:

(Gasp!) There is no name! He has no name!
That’s where you come in.

From now until this Thursday, February 2nd, come up with this new machine’s moniker, post it to 16 Handles’ Facebook page, and you can win a $500 Visa gift card and the lifetime achievement of naming a blender. Voting begins February 3rd and will end February 7th. Act fast! Two runner-ups will each receive a $10 Gift Card to the store, which equates to two quarts of blackcherry tart. Or a heaping portion of thin mint cookies, cake batter, mochi, and gummy bears. Or some snickerdoodle topped with pistachio topped with Oreo crumbles, kiwi, and coconut. Ah, mix whatever you want! And name this whatever you want. In perfect 16 Handles fashion, it’s your choice and whatever choice it is, it will be delicious. Power is fun, isn’t it?

Conde Nast’s $25,000 Dream Trip

image All right contest junkies. This one is a doozy. The grand prize is a $25,000 “Dream Trip” to anywhere in the world. The entry is easy: just upload your favorite travel photo to the Conde Nast Traveler site and write something pithy about why it was such a poignant travel moment for you. If you win, you’ll get travel guru Wendy Perrin’s expert planning advice and counsel to figure out all the ways you’re going to spend every last dime of that 25K, because you sure can’t take home the leftovers. When submitting your photos, think exotic and/or monumental. The 2007 winner submitted a self portrait of his booted feet standing on an iced over lake, with “snowbubbles” trapped inside the ice, as the sun rose, in Mongolia. The 2008 winner(s) snapped a shot of a monastery in Tigers Nest, Bhutan as they hiked up a long, windy road riddled with sheer drops. The young honeymooners were both battling severe fears of heights. All finalists receive a fancy digital SLR camera, and everyone who enters (or comments on a photo) gets a chance at the random sweepstakes prize which is a five night stay for two at the Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia. I’d enter this, it doesn’t seem like they get all that many entries (the winning entry in 2008 only received 78 votes) and the winners seemed to have a blast. 2007 went to Antarctica and South America, and 2008 went to the Maldives and Hong Kong. Safari anyone?
