Palme D’Or Winner ‘Amour’ To Make Us Depressed About Our Parents Aging

Amour looks like the most depressing movie you will see all year and, not coincidentally, an Oscar contender.

The French film, while won the top prize of the Palme d’Or at Cannes this year, follows an elderly couple who is still in love as they deal with their health in decline, according to The Hollywood Reporter

Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva play the couple and Isabelle Huppert (Ma Mére, I Heart Huckabees) plays their adult daughter struggling to care for both aging parents.

Amour opens December 19, in case you need a film to make the whole family think about death at Christmastime.
