This week, a very new kind of retail experience came to LA, as Luxury Garage Sale debuted its first pop-up in a location just off Melrose. With a mixture of second-hand and overstock items, the selection makes for a unique shopping format, offering top brands and designers along with the treasure hunting spirit of a thrift shop.
The online luxury consignment destination has expanded over the years, opening multiple permanent locations. And with a steady tour of pop-ups making its way around the country, LA was a natural choice, considering the city’s fashion-obsessed populace.

Kicking off with a high-profile launch party, LGS CEO Trish Lukasik was in attendance, tending to the pop-up like a curator tends to a new exhibit.
“We were very excited to come to California,” she said. “It’s like a whole new terrain for us, to bring this assortment and this selection of beautiful items to this population and see what the reaction is.”
Unlike most second-hand shopping experiences, LGS is fully stocked with statement pieces, taking the hit-or-miss aspect out of the equation. This particular selection was curated specifically for LA, based on the website’s local traffic.
Running until June 18 at 611 N La Cienega Blvd in West Hollywood, another pop-up will open June 1 at the Glendale Galleria. Lukasik also hinted at a potentially permanent LA location.
