When You Gotta Go…

imageNew Yorkers are mobile creatures. Stop, go, stop, go—always en route to somewhere. So there’s a good chance that when we get the sudden urge to purge, home sweet home is at least a train transfer away. George Costanza claimed to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the best public restrooms in the city, but for the rest of us, some public toilet training might be needed.

An artist named Tommy Mintz has published the “New York City Toilet Map,” a wallet-sized map of the 250 cans in Manhattan. It was released Sunday at the Jewish Museum as part of the Off the Wall: Artists at Work series. For just $2 and an extra 50 cents for shipping, you won’t have to worry about confronting the dreaded “For Customers Only” sign ever again.
