This Weekend In Sex, Stones + Savoia

Kayvon Zand and Anna Evans

I tell you about Kayvon Zand and his merry mates all the time. His weekly Wednesday Dorian Gray party at the Bowery Electric is all the rage. I get it… it’s a weeknight and you need your beauty sleep and all that jazz, but now’s your chance; Kayvon is having a smashing bash this Saturday, May 3. Now you have no excuses to enjoy a life-changing event. Kayvon Zand and DeLaCreme NYC in association with the Museum of Sex offer Sex Fifth Avenue. This is the opening night of their monthly Musexual dance. The music is forward and sometimes deliciously backward. DJs include Fluffy Animals, Stefano Ortega, Joanna Constantine, and Wren Britton. There will be the hottest performance artists and installations by Muffinhead, SSIK Designs, Vengeance Designs, and Church of Vanity. There will be Musexual performances, ridiculously sexy dancers and art and photos. There is soooo much going on and it’s all hot and bothered. I will be there looking for my next sex ex…or is it XXX. I get confused and that is what I like most about the whole affair.

Tonight it will be all about the Rolling Stones as the marvelous Mike Greco and his constant cozy companion MaryAne Piccolo fete the fabulous rocksters. It’s a celebration of an over 50-year legacy with DJ Marty E. of The Dirty Pearls spinning. Performers include Aaron LaVigne (Spiderman, Rent), Kiara Danielle (Mary Poppins), Tommy London (The Dirty Pearls), Breedlove, Nicki B, Kirby Brown, Michael Cavadias, Adam Enright, Brett Hellings, Dave Patillo, MaryAnne Piccolo and Danielle Tyler.  Mike Greco (keyboards) will supervise the musical offerings with a full band line up which includes Jimmy Caputo (bass), Joe DiBella (drums) and special guests Brian and Mike Dudolevitch of The Nuclears (guitar). The legendary Astro Erle will be guest hosting the event at The Delancey (168 Delancey Street). Doors are at 11 p.m. with performances starting at midnight.

This Sunday, old friend Michele Savoia, the tailor to the stars who now resides among them, will be remembered at a memorial at Macao Trading Company (311 Church Street). Michele passed when he slipped into the icy Hudson River waters from the pier where he parked his yacht. It was front-page news at the time and a complete shock to the thousands he touched. His friends will gather at 5 p.m. to toast to the spirit that lives on within us. This is open to his friends only and I post to alert them and to remind others about a life well lived. RIP Michele. Please RSVP to someone who was close.
