Sundance Goes Live From Abbey Road

Sundance Channel’s “Live From Abbey Road” series is once again allowing great artists to come together, right now. The show features live performances and interviews taped in the famed recording studio, so we regular-folk can see these artists in their element, performing in the comfort of a professional studio without an audience. Season two, which premiered last week, is off to a strong start; tonight will feature BRIT award winner/indie-pop songstress Kate Nash, jazz pianist and Academy Award winner Herbie Hancock, and six-time ACM winning country trio, Rascal Flatts.

Nash tells Sundance that she loves to make records and hopes to make loads more, and has plans to learn the guitar. Look for her to perform her single “Foundations” on tonight’s show. Hancock exudes true artistry and soul with his passionate discussion of inspiration, as well as his fantastic and unique fusion of rock, soul, and jazz. Prepare to be wowed as he performs tracks from this year’s Grammy-winning Album of the Year, River: The Joni Letters. Rascall Flatts perform their own Billboard Hot Country Song number one single “What Hurts the Most”, as well as their rendition of the crowd favorite, Tom Cochrane’s “Life Is A Highway.” They discuss their rise to fame in terms of the difficulties of being a country artist. From where we’re sitting (in front of a computer in a stuffy office), they seem to have it pretty decent. Check it out tonight at 10 PM.
