Lufthansa unveiled its highly anticipated new Airbus 380 earlier this week, and the most exciting part seems to be the first-class bathrooms! Yes, the pissoirs are some of the most luxurious ever seen on a commercial aircraft, they almost seem to suggest the mile-high club cliche.
It’s a really spacious bathroom for a plane. A miracle of a bathroom, really. The toilet is separate from the changing area. The sink is a design-y rectangle shape that sits atop the counter, and there’s a long cushioned leather banquette seat that makes you wonder just what first class passengers might get up to, besides changing into Egyptian cotton PJs.
The A380 will start regular service on June 11 on the Frankfurt to Tokyo tour. Lufthansa is expected to pickup four more of the planes, and their big bathrooms, by year’s end, for use on routes to Beijing and Johannesburg. Don’t get too crazy in those bathroom, though. They don’t have showers.
