With the Kremlin hacking scandal swerving into absurdity (which is not to mitigate its seriousness, certainly), the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs just shared a brilliantly cheeky voice mail message on Facebook today.
“You have reached the Russian Embassy.
Your call is very important to us.
To arrange a call from a Russian Diplomat, please press 1.
To use the services of Russian hackers, press 2.
To request election interference, press 3 and wait until the next election campaign.
Please note that all calls are recorded for quality improvement and training purposes.”
It’s still unclear if this was an April Fools joke, or if they were, perhaps, dead serious. There has been no response from the White House.
