Jimmy Kimmel has surely been itching for a Republican fight – and Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore might just be sorry that he ever made the mistake of egging him on.
Kimmel had sent correspondent Tony Barbieri, playing his character Jake Byrd, to disrupt a bizarre church rally in support of Moore’s candidacy. In retaliation, the accused child molester ludicrously challenged the late night host to a physical fight – and on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, the latter enthusiastically accepted in front of the whole country.
Kimmel then proceeded to verbally lacerate Moore, once again fighting Republican absurdity with his stinging, brilliantly incisive wit. “I’m going to come down to Alabama with a team of high school cheerleaders,” he antagonized Moore. “And if you can manage to keep little Roy in your little cowboy pants, you and I will sit down and talk about Christian values.” Zing.
Watch the whole utterly brilliant thing here.
