In a double gut punch to the stomachs of the more psychotic elements within the GOP’s rightwing, the once reliably conservative SCOTUS bench seems to have taken a wild leftward swing with two historic, liberal decisions on Gay Marriage and Obamacare.
In its Burwell decision, the court upheld the granting of subsidies (to low income buyers of insurance) by the federal insurance exchanges setup in states that refused to create their own. The decision is by no means historic on its merits—the case essentially boiled down to whether a typo ought to be enough to unravel the entire healthcare system. But for both Kennedy AND Roberts to resoundingly crush anti-Obamacare doublespeak with a resounding 6-3 decision was totally unexpected. Not a single serious minded person thought the plaintiffs were justified, and yet almost everyone saw it as a real possibility, even the likely possibility, that national healthcare would be unraveled on a triviality. The cronyism on the bench that so recently conspired with the 1% to wreck campaign finance reform—no where to be seen. In it’s place, rationality and a verbal lashing from Chief Justice John Roberts.
Duhhhh, thank you!
Yes! SCOTUS affirms what we know is true in our hearts & under the law: Health insurance should be affordable & available to all. -H

We need Consumer Care, not ObamaCare.

And all that was before SCOTUS decided to destroy religion by allowing sodomites to join themselves in the most Christian bonds of of marriage. Not surpassingly, Kennedy issued this 5-4 decision (really Roberts, you didn’t want to be on the right side of this one?).
From Kennedy’s ruling:
“It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage … Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.”
Dickhead Scalia of course was having none of it:
“The opinion is couched in a style that is as pretentious as its content is egotistic … Of course the opinion’s showy profundities are often profoundly incoherent.”
And of course POTUS (now and future) weighed in too… Yaasssssss kweeeen.

Bro, gay marriage is so chilllll.
The crushing tyranny!!!!!
“I will not acquiesce to an imperial court any more than our founders acquiesced to an imperial British monarch. We must resist and reject judicial tyranny, not retreat” —Mike Huckabee
Annnnnd we’re back to the war on Christians…
“Will pave the way for an all out assault against the religious freedom rights of Christians who disagree with this decision.” —Bobby Jindal
