The Cyclist’s Psychedelic ‘Bones In Motion’

There are deliriously fun moments to be had in music that continues to surprise you, never settling into any of the templates it keeps threatening to. Take The Cyclist, a producer from Northern Ireland who isn’t really drum and bass, nor quite part of the cerebral dubstep set. He’s just The Cyclist.

His PR team refer to this stuff as “exploded dance music,” and that’s about as close as you’ll come to conveying the ghostly, purring “Bones In Motion,” the title track from his next full-length effort, which lands March 26. Equal parts club energy and vintage tape distortion, it’s guaranteed to keep you just a hair off-balance. Yes, it’s kind of like drinking two beers.
