Premiere: Strange Talk’s Disco Summer Anthem ‘When It Feels So Good’

Australian band Strange Talk recently underwent a complete makeover. Having previously been a four-piece, the group has evolved into a duo consisting solely of Melbourne’s Stephen Docker and Gerard Sidu, who create the perfect summer soundtrack with their infectiously stirring electronic creations. With a whole new look and sound, we’re loving the band’s assertive show of progress and sonic exploration, sure to shine through on their forthcoming EP, due this October.

Their new single “When It Feels So Good,” premiering today on BlackBook, opens with gentle electronic flourishes that quickly evolve into a full on jam of synth swirls, falsetto crooning and an 80s, Chromeo-like vibe. It’s sugary yet cool, optimistic without seeming juvenile in the least. Essentially, it’s the type of music you can never have too much of when you’re in the mood for drinks on the rooftop during a dreamily agreeable summer day. About the song, Sidu tells us:

“We wanted to write a song that showcased our influences and had a feel good disco vibe and would help fuse the old Strange Talk with the new.”
