Pop punk mainstays Paradise Fears have been a fan favorite for years, and as they start the next chapter as a band, it’s the perfect time to premiere the video for their new single “You To Believe In”, a heartfelt tune with an unavoidable and undeniably catchy chorus.
“You To Believe In” is somehow quintessentially Paradise Fears, while also showing their growth as a band. It’s their first release after signing their first big label deal with Nashville-based DigSin. The label hooked the band up with renowned producer John Fields, who has worked with everyone from Hilary Duff to the Backstreet Boys to Miley Cyrus. He’s essentially the man you call when you want a pop song that a real band can play (backing or other). The result is an upbeat track that’s easy to relate to and even easier to like.
About the single, lead singer Sam Miller said:
Musically, it’s right where we want to be – moving people with the arrangement and challenging people with the lyrics. It walks a cool line between unwarranted optimism & uncontrollable cynicism – just feeling so happy-sad. The story of my 20’s, thus far.
Paradise Fears started making music together in high school in their hometown in South Dakota, and over the next few years, they worked tirelessly to self-release and self-promote EPs and albums, all the while playing everywhere they could and amassing an impressive, dedicated fan base. The group has released music consistently since 2009, and with every new single or show, the fans seem to love them more and more. Being an indie band can be tough, but if you have a group of people that love you like their fans do, you can make it work.
The band is out on tour, as they so often are. Check out dates on their website.
