Never Before Seen Beatles Photos Surface

It’s been 45 years since The Beatles commenced their first U.S. tour, way back in 1964, but a series of photographs from those heady days are only just now seeing the light of day. Captured by late photographer Curt Gunther — and left to collect dust in his son’s briefcase for “years and years” — the photos show quiet, intimate, funny moments from their tour as the legendary band first broke into the international spotlight. Rolling Stone has the story and the photos up on their website, but anyone interested in seeing them in person can check them out at New York’s Morrison Hotel Gallery. I’ve collected the best ones, after the break.

All photographs are by Curt Gunther, courtesy of the Morrison Hotel Gallery. You can learn more at the Morrison Hotel Gallery’s website. Here’s a short interview with Gunther.
