Melody’s Echo Chamber, “Crystallized”

Melody’s Echo Chamber is Melody Prochet’s “Parisian pop project,” and really if you’re not sold on that ridiculous descriptor what good are you. Kevin Parker of Tame Impala produced their self-titled album last year, if that helps. But I think you’ll be hooked by this eerie yet funky video for the single “Crystallized.”

Looping his imagery the way the song loops its electronic, hallucinatory gestures, director Zaiba Jabbar builds a similar tension. Indeed, a full two and a half minutes in, this still seems like a track without a chorus. And you never do get one—instead it’s all about the breakdown (aurally, visibly, emotionally). Then: enter the fuzz rock.
