Holychild may have only just released their debut EP Mindspeak, but they’re set to become a synth-pop powerhouse. The LA-based duo shines on effortlessly relatable tracks like “Happy With Me” and “Every Time I Fall,” whose candy-coated vibes make you want to throw a slumber party immediately. Singer Liz Nistico also conjures the colorful with the trilogy of videos she directed to accompany Mindspeak, following a gang of girls who may or may not be living the dream.
She and bandmate Louie Diller will be presenting the clips and performing at New York’s MoMA this weekend, in conjunction with the museum’s Robert Heinecken exhibition. Even if you can’t make it, you can still enjoy Holychild’s disposable camera tour diary from their recent trip to SXSW. (Check out BlackBook’s artist surveys for more of Liz’s insights from Austin.)
