In 2013, Los Angeles sister trio HAIM released their debut album, Days Are Gone, an immaculate collection of warm, sun-soaked singles, from “Forever” to “The Wire.” With summer quickly approaching, we’ve been craving new material from the breakout band to soundtrack afternoons spent poolside, perhaps even sipping a healthy, Young Lust cocktail. Thankfully, the two year wait appears to be over.
On Twitter, HAIM revealed they’ve been working on fresh, new music and have also scheduled a mini-tour, starting May 17 at Santa Ana’s Observatory. “We’ve just been in the studio for so long—like, perfecting and trying to get it right,” the group admits in a video clip. “At this point, we just wanna go out there and play the songs live.”
Considering they’ve been admitted into Taylor Swift’s coveted Girl Gang, and recently hopped in the studio with hitmaker Justin Tranter, the songwriter behind Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” it seems as though HAIM has a strong chance at slaying the sophomore slump with some serious radio contenders. Watch their teaser, below:
