El-P and Zola Jesus Share the Stage on ‘Conan’

"Hey," El-P greets Conan O’Brien’s studio audience. "I’ve been waiting for you all week." The emcee and producer, in the midst of touring on his own album, Cancer 4 Cure, alongside Killer Mike, whose acclaimed album, R.A.P. Music, he also produced, stopped by Conan to perform with vocal virtuoso Zola Jesus.

With some haunting backup vocal stylings from his collaborator, O’Brien’s house horn section and some congas, El-P gave an intergalactic performance of his track, "Works Every Time," informing the audience of "a fresh start to a new world" and backing up the claim with some futuristic sounds. All in all, it works (every time), even when El-P quotes Airplane! on the track: "Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."
