Die Antwoord – Ugly Boy
This video is NSFW, but what would you expect from eccentric South African rap group Die Antwoord at this point? Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er are back with their latest video for the single “Ugly Boy,” a track from their 2014 album Donker Mag. The video is Angelina Jolie circa Girl Interrupted level CRAZY, and features fun cameos from ATL Twins, Marilyn Manson, Jack Black, Dita Von Teese, and more.
Koloto – Fox Tales
Maria Sullivan, better known as “Koloto” is an electronic music producer from Canterbury, Kent. Within a few months of her 2013 debut, she’d garnered multiple plays on BBC Radio 1. Her use of handcrafted sounds as opposed to sample libraries to create a comforting and unique sound, with songs like “Fox Tales” welcoming listeners into a folklore-like atmosphere.
JUCE – 6th Floor
London girl group JUCE have picked up on the millennial obsession with the 90s and turned that nostalgic yearning into a retro-glam music project, which has already received a great deal positive attention. Their lush, poppy take mixed with the sounds of two decades ago make them an easy favorite for anyone in search of good new music.
Tinashe – Aquarius
Tinashe’s recent debut album Aquarius is truly a gem. It’s chockfull of sexy, state-of-the art R&B that only helps to confirm the singer as the next big thing (although it’s easily arguable that she’s already there.” This track, the album’s name sake, is one of my favorite’s by far with its smooth ambience and inventive melodies. Check it out above.
LittleBoots – Taste It
LittleBoots explores her playful, sexual side in her latest release “Taste It.” When your track has a title that basically resembles every Rihanna song ever released, this sensuality should come as no surprised. As the first release from the artist in 18 months, it’s safe to say that LittleBoots is back and kicking.
