5 Must-See Concerts in Los Angles This Week: Wilco, Win Butler + More

Thursday, July 30

Disco princess Gavin Turek made a strong claim for song of the summer with her new jam “Don’t Fight It.” Check it out alongside a set from Tokimonsta tonight at Hotel Figueroa.

9 pm. 939 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA.

Friday, July 31

Jamaican Queens‘ second album Downers is one of the year’s strongest–and most underrated–releases of the year so far. The Detroit quartet draws from diverse genres to make eerily pleasing pop, blended with lyrics that are a little darker than they initially let on. They open up for Brick & Mortar at the Satellite tonight.

8:30pm. 1717 Silverlake Blvd, Silverlake, CA.

Saturday, August 1

This year’s installment of HARD Summer sees the collision of dance and hip-hop stars at the Pomona Fairplex. There’s a little something for everyone this weekend, including Years & Years, Brodinski, the Chemical Brothers, Jamie XX, Maya Jane Coles, Gorgon City, Anna Lunoe, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Rae Sremmurd, iLoveMakonnen, Spank Rock, and more. JACK Ü and the Weeknd headline the festival.

12pm. 1101 W McKinley Ave, Pomona, CA.

Wednesday, August 5

Fresh from the release of surprise album Star Wars, folk-rock stalwarts Wilco play the Greek Theatre tonight.

7:30pm. 2700 North Vermont, Los Angeles, CA.

Wednesday, check out the side project of Arcade Fire’s Win Butler: DJ Windows 98. Inspired by 90s computer vibes, the vocalist will be performing under his glitchy pseudonym at Constellation Room.

9:00pm. 3503 S. Harbor Blvd., CA.
