The Third Man

With Orson Welles’ 1949 film in mind, Eduard Frauneder and Wolfgang Ban created this Alphabet City space to reflect Europe in the early 20th century, accented by Austria. Thick, exposed wooden beams stretch across the ceiling, green leather banquets line the space, and ironwork and distressed mirrors add an old world depth to the bar. At the large, hearty bar, they serve an array of small bites and craft cocktails, including the Chesterfield, made with gin, fresh ginger, lime juice, tonic, and house-made grenadine.
