Watch the World Cup on Governor’s Island This Weekend

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, try the Official World Cup Public Viewing Zone at Governor’s Island. Live screenings of the games will take place at Governors’ Beach Club, a waterfront concert venue, and the Spontaneous Interventions building on Colonel’s Row.

Spontaneous Interventions, the organizers of this ongoing event, seek to “celebrate community-based actions to improve public space.” This is the largest public viewing zone in New York, and is sure to be very festive. All of the events are free, and there is also a fun zone featuring a range of soccer games and activities.
