For what it’s worth, Twins was a huge hit in 1988. It grossed more than $200 million worldwide—and that was in the ’80s. Turns out, people really loved the Ivan Reitman film, where Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger played Julius and Vincent Benedict, fraternal twins and results of a genetics experiment gone awry.
Nearly a quarter-century later, Universal is developing a sequel called—surprise!—Triplets. Ivan Reitman will produce, DeVito and Schwarzenegger will return, and the film will reportedly star Eddie Murphy as the long-lost triplet. Not sure how he’ll fit into the brotherly dynamic, to be honest.
And no, this is not an early April Fool’s joke.
