The Best Worst Reviews for ‘Jack & Jill’

Adam Sandler/Adam Sandler in drag’s new flick Jack & Jill looks to be the top contender for this year’s Razzies. As far as reviews for comedy films go, the less funny a film is, the more funny the review. This is no exception. The critics haven’t been this hilariously mean since Pooty Tang.  A few of the best:

"How can something like this happen?"” –  Moviefone

"The Friars Club should picket it for crimes against comedy." – NY Mag

“As for Mr. Sandler, I have always been interested in what he would do next, and I suppose I still am, especially if what he does next is retire.” – New York Times

"It’s pretty sad if you’re a comic and Al Pacino is the funniest thing in your movie." – New York Post

“Will Jack and Jill, his worst-rated movie to date, be the last straw, or will people keep coming back for more? (I mean who knows what he’ll be next time?! “Adam Sandler is… a time-traveling chimp… and he’s your new babysitter“!)" – EW

"More than 24 hours has passed since I watched the new Adam Sandler movie “Jack and Jill” and I am still dead inside." – TIME

"Sandler and director Dennis Dugan must have something on "The Godfather" to make him lower himself to these depths. "Burn it," says Pacino after watching the commercial Sandler creates. "No one must ever see this." The same goes for the movie." – Rolling Stone

“And, as I sat watching the 90-minute film, I realized Jack and Jill wasn’t bad. It was terrible. It was a smorgasbord of bad ideas, an editing disaster in which scenes appeared as if from nowhere and everyone involved was frighteningly unembarrassed to be acting alongside a headliner in a horrible frat-boy Halloween costume.” – PopWatch

“Jack and Jill even gives fart jokes a bad name.” – Associated Press

“Howard the Duck, Gigli, Showgirls, From Justin To Kelly. What do they all have in common? They’re all widely considered to be among the worst big studio movies ever made. You know what else they have in common? They’re all better than Jack and Jill.” – Aisle Seat
