He hasn’t been in much lately, save for Tim & Eric’s Billion-Dollar Movie, but with a lot in the pipeline as an actor and producer (Dog Fight, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters), it seemed like as good of a time as any for Will Ferrell to remind us he exists. First there were the hyper-local Old Milwaukee beer commercials, and then Ferrell showed up at New Orleans Arena on ’80s Night this week to introduce the players before the home team Hornets took on the visiting Chicago Bulls (who would go on to win by 23).
Ferrell’s introductions, set to the strains of the Paper Lace’s "The Night Chicago Died" and AC/DC’s "Back In Black," respectively, included some fun facts about the players that sounded like they would have fit in well in a lost version of the Anchorman script. Bulls forward Luol Deng "collects rare birds and has a pet dolphin named Chachi." Joakim Noah is "a Scorpio and a terrible dancer" (for those keeping track, Noah is actually a Pisces). Emeka Okafor of the Hornets "majored in econ, but he minored in loooove." Awww, yeah.
Watch the clip below. Also, the Hornets mascot is wearing a Rubik’s Cube because ’80s Night. What.
