Cannes Film Festival Announces Full Lineup

The full lineup has been announced for Cannes 2012, which will take place May 16-27. Recently, actor/director Tim Roth was named as the head of the jury for this year’s festival and The Artist star Berenice Bejo will host the ceremonies. We know Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom will open, but what about the rest of this crazy festival?

Some of the most hyped movies include Cosmopolis, David Cronenberg’s adaptation of Don DeLillo’s novel starring Robert Pattinson as Eric Packer and Paul Giamatti as Benno Levin, the awaited Walter Salles cinematic adaptation of Kerouac’s On The Road as well as new films from John Hillcoat (The Road), Lee Daniels (Precious: Based on the Novel Push By Sapphire), Ken Loach (Riff Raff) and Abbas Kiarostami (Certified Copy). 2010 Palme d’Or winner Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Fatih Akin and long-running auteur extraordinaire Bernardo Bertolucci both have films showing over the week, but none will compete for the Palme d’Or.
