Urban Outfitters isn’t slowing down with the designer collaborations whatsoever. The latest names to be added to the chain’s long list of design partners are headgear maven Eugenia Kim, as well as LA-based jewelry designer Annie Costello Brown, says Style.com. Considering each of these accessory designers’ wares can be priced in the few hundreds, the teaming provides a great opportunity to score sartorial spice at a budget-conscious price point. While photos from the respective side projects haven’t been released, the fruits from the partnerships will hit stores by the fall.
Meanwhile, the retailer also recently relaunched its blog section, which includes individual blogs for a dozen cities from around the world. New tweaks include “a simpler format and more opportunities for social networking,” says Coutorture. “In addition to the requisite Twitter and Facebook accounts, Urban Outfitters has also set up Flickr and YouTube accounts where users pool their content freely.” Not to mention they’ve created an eBay store for their vintage line, Urban Renewal. While the latter seems unnecessary given the fact that Urban Outfitters website is complete with a fully functioning online store, the move suggests a perspective of the more visibility the better.
