For Taylor Swift’s first-ever cover story for Vogue, the fashion rag shadowed the country pop singer as she sat front row for top shows and visited designer studios during New York Fashion Week. While Conde Nast likely swinged their sartorial magic wands to provide Swift with access to Rodarte, Alexander Wang, and Prabal Gurung, there’s no denying that these designers—along with the rest of the world—are bewitched by Swift’s adorable catchy tunes and squeaky-clean image. Her look, though, could use an update.
Thankfully, the stellar styling team at Vogue convinced the award-winning singer to ditch her signature corkscrew curls for long layers and bangs à la Jane Birkin. As for the fashion, the Mario Testino-shot editorial features Swift sporting strictly Rodarte, the designer of choice for other young stylesetters like Elle Fanning, Tavi Gevinson, and Hailee Steinfeld. And considering that Swift towers over her peers at 5-foot-10 and is sample size, it’s no surprise that high-fashion suits her well.
