Big news from the Gareth Pugh camp –– and, no, it’s not Dior Homme-related. The designer, who surprised the fashion world yesterday in Paris with a Fall 09 collection presented in video format as opposed to a runway show, has been hard at work on footwear as well as make-up, says WWD. Donning head-to-toe Pugh will soon be possible.
For a look at the full eight-minute video presentation (a film by Ruth Hogben), which showcases Pugh’s fantastical fall styles, click here. The collection is signature Pugh, with aerodynamic urban-warrior styles accentuated both by wind and bold cinematic cuts (may be NSFW due to a reoccurring pair of exposed breasts). As Tim Blanks explains, “the collection followed on very closely from the menswear Pugh showed in January (he is also selling those clothes in women’s sizes).” In other words, female fans of Pugh’s can now pair peek-a-boo chainmail tops from his men’s collection with the uber-flared, pleated black pants from his women’s collection (and, eventually, corresponding lip shades and shoes).
