Recession chic is all the rage these days, and Earnest Sewn, for one, is embracing the trend with an in-store boutique selling only goods under $20. While this new in-shop feature is just one of ten of Style.com’s excuses to go shopping this fall, it’s probably the one that’s easiest on the wallet. According to them, “Earnest Sewn is planning a slump-inspired installation that even the most parsimonious of penny-pinchers will find hard to resist.”
As far as the goods up for grabs at the pop-up shop, cheekily coined Recession Proof: “expect artist-designed T-shirts and pins,” as well as a slew of other cheaply priced pieces. And, of course, if your budget is basically nonexistent, both the denim brand’s Meatpacking District and Orchard Street locations are likewise great places to window shop, which, fortunately, won’t cost you a dime.
