Since Gorillaz have made an entire career based on collaboration, the band’s very own Converse collection makes a whole heap of footwear sense. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their self-titled debut album, the rotating, Grammy Award-winning band is revamping the classic Chuck Taylor with their very own geometric army-print pattern.
Designed by Jamie Hewlett, who is the visual director and the only other full-time, real-life member besides Blur’s Damon Albarn, the shoes are lined with graphics of Gorillaz’s virtual members. Hitting stores this February (and at a Converse-reasonable price of $60), the full Gorillaz x Converse collection is supposed to embody the entire Gorillaz oeuvre, with cartoony band images and album iconography. Plus, as Russel Hobbs, the heavy-set drummer says, "I’ve been wearing my Converse since forever."
