Just below VK Nagrani’s NoLita storefront is a fashionable man cave designed for the boy at heart. It’s a warm space to enjoy a strong cocktail, good company, and some exquisite fashion.
The designer recently hosted an underground Fashion Week party to show off his fall/winter 2017 collection. Bartenders kept the day drinks flowing as waitresses served fried foods. Models mingled with guests while sporting the designer’s latest pieces.
“Unlike most designers, I have chosen to focus on creating functional, stylish pieces that stand the test of time,” Nagrani said of the collection. “I find myself looking to the past for inspiration. For men, fashion is irrelevant. In an industry moving towards a genderless aesthetic, I am even more focused on the essence of masculinity. The goal is to take from the past and make it modern for the present and keeping it relevant into the future. A man’s wardrobe should enhance his way of life rather than complicate it with frivolous trends.”
The fall/winter 2017 collection brings a classic quality to the modern man as does the entire VK Nagrani experience. The in-and-out shopping format of today’s fast fashion is replaced with a familiar sense of camaraderie and membership, making his menswear speakeasy the ultimate gathering of men of a certain style.
