The original scream queen is returning to the role that started it all. It was recently announced that Jamie Lee Curtis will portray Laurie Strode once again in Blumhouse’s new Halloween film, 40 years after she originated the role in the original film. David Gordon Green’s Halloween, set to premiere in 2018.
They also teased the new film with a photo of Curtis and the iconic Michael Myers lurking in the shadows. The actress also took to Twitter to confirm the news.
"Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18." pic.twitter.com/IvptiZctyw

Curtis appeared as Strode in Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and Halloween: Resurrection. Just as did H20 and Resurrection, the 2018 film will ignore the rest and continue from Halloween II, which makes sense since Curtis’ character did not meet a happy conclusion.
Filming begins this fall with John Carpenter on board as executive producer.
