BLACKBOOK PREMIERE: New Wild Arrows Video for ‘Dark Me’

Though their name suggests something much more hazardous, Wild Arrows have actually made their reputation on a somber, yet alluring, post-punk referencing oeuvre. (The Village Voice called them “Dark…gorgeous.”)

The Brooklyn duo of Mike Law (formerly of New Idea Society) and Yasmin Reshamwala have an album, the ethereally titled Dreamlike Dream, coming April 14. But in the meantime, BlackBook premieres here the graceful but harrowing video for “Dark Me”…a masterstroke of Teutonic synth-pop that recalls the likes of Kraftwerk and Ultravox.

“We wanted to find a way for the video to feel as claustrophobic as possible,” Law reveals, “so we actually found this underground pipe we could film in. I’ll not say if the pipe was actually underground or how we came across it, but it’s gone now and I’ll miss it forever.”

They’ll also be appearing live at Bowery Electric on March 25, and Music Hall of Williamsburg on March 29.
