How to Be Jenna Lyons — Starting with the Impeccable Lipstick

Whether or not you consider J.Crew’s modern-tomboy-with-a-dash-of-sequins-and-glam aesthetic to be in tune with you own, I think we can all agree that there’s something endlessly chic about those perfectly put together, un-fussy dream girls in their catalogs (and on spokesmodel executive creative director Jenna Lyons).

While J.Crew has made small entrees into the beauty world, none has been quite as custom as the new six-piece lipstick collection from the artist who does the looks himself, Troi Ollivierre. 

Aside from the J.Crew associations, Ollivierre notes what makes the look special. Of the looks he creates for J.Crew he told T Magazine, “Even when we add a pop of color to the lips, we try to keep it looking clean. I felt like a lot of the matte colors on the market tended to be dry and heavy, so I wanted to create a highly saturated, pigmented, matte, luxe lipstick that is moisturizing and feels weightless.” So his offerings will focus on just that–bright mattes that while saturated and colorful, still feel fresh and clean.


The collection will begin with six shades. Four colors are available for preorder on Olliverre’s site, while two will be sold exclusively at J.Crew.
