This Is How You Turn Wild Runway Makeup into a Sexy, Real Life Look

There was a time during NYFW when all we cared about was covering up our dark circles — and then Chromat sent models down the runway lookin’ all fierce with this ultra bright and distracting dot of eyeshadow that really, if we’re getting technical, was almost almost on the side of the nose.

In our sleep deprived haze we thought, ooh, I could do that! But now we’re thinking more like, ok, how do I do that for real life?

Let makeup artist Dana Rae show you how.

Gather your supplies. You’ll need:

A cream shadow (in a slightly more subtle shade than orange). We like fall-appropriate bronze Caviar Stick Eye Colour by Laura Mercier.
Highlighter — who can go wrong with Nars Illuminator in Orgasm?
Lip balm — if you’re feeling luxe, go with Chanel (it makes for a fun reapply).

The Steps

1. After moisturizing, take a moment to think about where the sun hits your cheeks, dotting the illuminator along the cheekbone and patting it in until you’re looking extra dewy.

2. With a steady hand, draw a half moon shape on the lid with the cream shadow near the lashes, starting from the inner eye and reaching about a third of the way out.

3. Fill in the half circle with the cream shadow.

4. Dab on some lip balm. Stay hydrated, friends.
