Conjuring Crumbs Bake Shop’s Ghost With Dippin’ Dots

Last week, Crumbs officially closed all of its stores, and stopped selling their giant, face-sized cupcakes online and in grocery stores. We mourned the loss of the desserts that went hand-in-hand with the Google search: Can you die from sugar poisoning (not diabetes)? But good news for all you who don’t want to have to eat a normal sized cupcake. Marcus Lemonis, star of the reality show The Profit, has teamed up with the owner of Dippin’ Dots to buy the cupcake giant. Now back from its sugary early death, Crumbs is going to re-open at an undisclosed date as a “sweets and snacks” store and will sell Dippin’ Dots and other snacks like Doc’s popcorn, Mr. Green’s Tea Ice Cream, and gluten free baked goods.

Honestly, I don’t really care that much about Crumbs, the real news is that you can now buy Dippin’ Dots all over the city. (This is really exciting for me, as I once got one of my friends to drive me to a mall  for the express purpose of getting banana split Dippin’ Dots. You know they don’t sell them anywhere except for malls and baseball games?)

Surreal Life with Kenzo and David Lynch

Kenzo just released some images and a teaser video for it’s fall winter 2014 campaign, and they’re really weird in a really good way.

The campaign, created in collaboration with Toiletpaper magazine’s creative team — Maurizio Cattelan, Piperpaolo Ferrari, and Micol Talso — Kenzo’s creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, “bring the viewer on another perplexing exploration into the Parisian fashion house’s collections,” according to the release.

The five-some have previously collaborated on Kenzo’s fall winter 2013 and spring summer 2014 campaigns, focusing on the development of characters and protagonists. This season’s campaign, inspired by David Lynch, places models Guinevere van Seenus and Robert Mckinnon in an unusual environment, and revolves around their exploration and interaction with this beautiful, alien world.

Oh, also, they’re wearing beautiful clothes. Peep the teaser video and another image below, and get excited for more videos and gifs to come every day this week on Kenzo’s blog, Kenzine.

Nathan For You is Coming Back, You Should Watch It

Image via Comedy Central
Nathan for You is the creation of Nathan Fielder, who you may recognize from “Dumb Starbucks” his full-service Starbucks franchise in Los Angeles that puts the word “Dumb” in front of every menu item. Or from his fake viral video of a pig saving a baby goat. Or from his Instagram selfie series wherein he stealthily includes images of porn through reflections on CDs, utensils, and anything else shiny in his.

Nathan for you is my favorite show on TV, and it’s returning to Comedy Central on July 1st. If you’ve never seen the show before, the premise is: Nathan Fielder is a comedian who actually went to business school, and he combines those two things to make for TV that made my little brother actually shoot Sprite out of his nose one time.

Fielder finds failing businesses, and pitches them ideas to save their company. Not, like, “get a social media following!” or “re-invigorate your branding!” kinds of ideas. More like “serve poo flavored frozen yogurt,” or “allow attractive people to shoplift from your store,” kinds of ideas. The weird part is they sort of work, but who cares about that it’s really really funny.

To prepare, you can watch the full first season for free on the Comedy Central website. Don’t have time for that? Here are a few of my favorite moments from the show which premieres on July 1st at 10:30 PM on Comedy Central.

Resort Cutout Pieces U Should Let Your Skin Be Seen Thru

One of the most prevalent trends we’ve seen on the resort 2015 runways so far is the cutout. Some great iterations of the look are currently available in stores, and are appropriate for the beach, a night out, and some pieces even for the office. Since designers just wont seem to cut it out with the cut outs, here are some of our favorite ways to wear the trend right now. Slightly less classy cutoutsMRZ DressAlexander Wang TopCushnie et Ochs DressCushnie et Ochs Dress; Cushnie et Ochs DressAquazzura Shoes;Whie cutouts Thakoon Addition DressTamara Mellon TopChristopher Kane DressSally Lepointe DressClassy in Black Victoria Beckham DressIsa Arfen DressChristopher Kane DressDion Lee TopVictoria Beckham DressDelpozo Dress;SwimMikoh SwimsuitI.d. Michael Jackson, one of America’s biggest shocked the world with his sudden death five years ago. We have decided to ask YOU about this controversial issue that is dividing the nation.

New Teen Epidemic Destroying the Country

There is an epidemic plaguing our nation’s youth. It is setting us back from achieving our goals, from living our dreams, from fulfilling our desires. We all thought that the generations that came before us would help us and guide us, our parents, our teachers, our mentors. We put our trust in the wrong hands, blindly following those that bore us, those that nurtured us, those that squirted ketchups both purple and green onto our McNuggets (~ ’90s kids ~).

They never taught us how to drive stick. They said, “almost no cars are stick these days, what, do you think we’re getting you a Maserati for your 16th birthday?” We believed them. We saw the logic in their statements. We felt like the spoiled brats the media makes us out to be for even asking for the Maserati just that one time. But now we realize we’ve been duped, we’ve been sabotaged by those we put our trust in.

When three teens, three nameless, beautiful teens set out to steal one simple car, they didn’t know what the Olds had plotted against them. The Seattle teens thought an old woman would be kind, would help them, would understand accessibility issues, would understand their desire for autonomous transportation in suburban sprawl.  Nancy Fredrickson, a 71 year old black belt martial artist had a different plan.  When the teens pulled a gun on her and asked politely for her keys, she threw them on the ground, pretending to comply. She knew she had an ace in the hole, a backup plan, what she referred to as her, “5-speed.”

That’s when the Old Woman used the Teen Epidemic to her advantage. “They couldn’t figure out how to get it going,” Fredrickson said, probably laughing maniacally like the maniac she probably is. The teens then, courteously, graciously, and humbly left the keys in the car for Fredrickson, and left her on her merry way.
