Mark Duplass has released the trailer for the first film of his four-movie deal with Netflix, Blue Jay, starring himself and Sarah Paulson.
In the black-and-white feature, Paulson and Duplass play old high school sweethearts who run into each other in a grocery store years later and rekindle an old flame. Normally we’d think “Been there, done that,” but with Paulson attached fresh off her Emmy win for The People Vs. O.J. Simpson, we can’t help but be excited. Plus, anyone with any connection to Transparent, (in Duplass’ case, his brother stars as one of the Pfeffermans) should be given as much screen time as possible, in our opinion.
Blue Jay was written by Mark Duplass and directed by Alex Lehmann. It comes to theaters October 7 and Netflix shortly after.
