A Special Place in Hell for Those Who Operate Revenge Porn Sites

Revenge porn king Hunter Moore is going to jail. No, he’s not being arrested for being a fucking scumbag. On Thursday, Moore was indicted by a federal grand jury for operating isanyoneup.com. The site posted photos of women, many of who did not consent to having their naked/compromising images appear on the Internet for the entire world to see and for Moore to profit.

According to Time, the indictment from the United States District Court for the Central District of California charges Moore and Charles “Gary” Evens with conspiracy to “access a protected computer without authorization to obtain information for private financial gain” and other counts. How does that work? Moore paid Evens to break into the email accounts of their targeted victims and steal nude photos that were then posted on isanyoneup.com quicker than you could say, “I am a sociopath!”

The reason why Mr. Hunter Moore deserves his very own, select, Dante circle of Hell? This is textbook cyber-bullying of the worst kind, induced by profit. In fact, if you go to the isanyoneup.com URL – the site has been taken down and replaced by an anti-bullying domain with a message from the founder that reads:

How many more tortured young kids will choose to take their own lives, rather than face the insecure bullies who get pleasure from ruining theirs?

It’s pointed out how Hunter Moore was one of the Internet’s most notorious bully offenders. On ABC Nightline he proclaimed that he was a “professional life ruiner.” In the Village Voice, Moore stated about a pending FBI investigation against him, “I will literally fucking buy a first class fucking plane ticket right now, eat an amazing meal, buy a gun in New York and fucking kill whoever said that. I will burn down the fucking Village Voice headquarter if you fucking write anything saying I have an FBI investigation.” (Moore must now have egg on his jailhouse face.) Meanwhile, on Gawker, Moore was quoted as saying, “If someone killed themselves over being on the site, do you know how much money I’d make? At the end of the day, I do not want anybody to hurt themselves. But if the do, thank you for the money!”

Storage Wars cast member Brandi Passante sued the 27-year-old for defamation after he posted a nude video of a woman he claimed was she. Moore responded by emailing her lawyer a picture of his dick.

Lesson to be learned? Revenge is a dish best served from a cold prison cell.
