Miley Cyrus Releases Breakup Track ‘Week Without You’

Miley Cyrus dropped a new breakup track just in time for you to kick your summer lover to the curb. The single from the new Younger Now album is fittingly called “Week Without You,” and it may have you strumming your imaginary guitar on your fire escape, while you cry and chain smoke.

In the twangy country song, Cyrus sings about spending a week without her lover, which, let’s be real, is probably Liam Hemsworth, considering she co-wrote and co-produced every song on the upcoming record. “I know that I gave you my heart, but you stomped it to the ground,” she sings on the chorus. “And that’s what’s got me wondering what is like to not have you around.”

The track is the latest in a heavy run of releases from Miley. Last week, she turned her Rainbowland Studios into a BBC Live Lounge set, and performed country versions of “See You Again” and “Party in the U.S.A.”…as well as a cover of the Roberta Flack classic “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.” Check them all out below.

Miley Performs Beautiful Acoustic Cover of ‘Malibu’ for Elvis Duran

Miley is making the press rounds today, and her latest stop is on Elvis Duran, where the provocative pop star turned folksy singer-songwriter did an acoustic set of her new single, “Malibu.”

The set gave Cyrus a chance to show off her powerful, smoky vocals, and we actually think “Malibu” might be even better stripped down. She dressed in a Joanne-era hat and floral dress, and her performance took us back to one of our favorite Miley moments of all time: her Backyard Sessions “Jolene” cover, naturally (available below).

Rumor has it this mellow vibe is indicative of Cyrus’ forthcoming album, which we’re guessing is the former Disney star’s take on a Joanne career chapter. She recently told Billboard that her goal. with new music isn’t to please the masses: “My main concern isn’t radio. I truly don’t even listen to it.”

Take a listen to the earthy rendition of “Malibu” below:

If you’re a true fan, you’ll no doubt have already found your way to this video on your own, but in case you’re in a pinch and need it now:

Also, something very important we just stumbled upon:

The First Full Trailer for Woody Allen’s Amazon Show is Here

The first full trailer for Woody Allen’s new Amazon original series, Crisis in Six Scenes, has finally arrived, and it promises to be a quirky, star-studded riot of a TV show. The show follows a struggling TV writer (played by Allen) in the 60s and his dysfunctional suburban family, thrown into turmoil by the arrival of one rebellious hippie daughter – a certain Ms. Miley Cyrus.

Cyrus returns to acting with longer hair than we’ve seen her sporting in years, eating naval oranges and wagging them in front of her face in the trailer. She and Allen are joined in the cast by Elaine May, Rachel Brosnahan, and John Magaro.

The show is a single season, six episode project for Allen, and airs on Amazon on Sept 30.

Check out the trailer below.

Watch Miley Cyrus’ Bonnetcore ‘BB Talk’ Music Video

Considering Miley Cyrus’ entire aesthetic is lifted from the Internet, like a massive Tumblr reblog in the physical world, it was only a matter of time before she tapped into the viral #Bonnetcore trend that Papermag first spotted a few months back. She’s a little late to the party, but aren’t all insanely wealthy pop stars just a little bit removed?

In Cyrus’ new music video for “BB Talk” off Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, the 23-year-old singer channels her inner infant, crawling on the floor alongside a monstrous baby bottle and pouting in a crib. “Fuck me, so you stop baby talking,” she coos, backed by an army of adult-sized babies, all grumpily sucking on pacifiers and occasionally breaking into campy choreography. Watch the madness, below:

Tongue Wielder Miley Cyrus Licked a Piano and Sold It For $50,000

Miley Cyrus’ tongue has become a useless fixture of pop culture, inspiring thousands of viral memes and informing the direction of Halloween costumes modeled after the singer’s foam finger-flailing VMA performance. During the LGBT Center’s Vanguard Awards Gala on Saturday, however, Cyrus’ famous asset became unlikely bait for charity when a white grand piano that she licked onstage sold with the unfathomably steep bid of $50,000.

Celebrating her philanthropic work with the Happy Hippie foundation, the 22-year-old Dead Petz singer received the Vanguard Award from the LGBT Center—a formal acknowledgement that Cyrus fittingly shook up when she began auctioning off said piano beside songwriter Linda Perry. With a shameless flick of her unstoppable tongue, Cyrus raised an incredible sum for the Center in the only way she knows how. Sure, we admit it’s easy to dismiss the Disney Channel survivor for all her wonky antics, but these are the rare moments when acknowledgment is undeniably due.

“I want all of you to know that I feel beyond grateful to be in a room full of so many people who care so much about others because unfortunately that is way too rare in the world that we live in today,” Cyrus said to the audience after accepting her award. “I’m thinking of tonight not as celebrating what we’ve already done but what we’re doing and what we’re going to do in the future.”

Miley Cyrus Turns Gender Roles on Their Heads with New Instagram Campaign

It seems that the quest to squash the gender binary begins with a magazine cover these days. After posing with her pig (and not much else) on this month’s Paper Magazine, Miley Cyrus pulled a Caitlyn Jenner and revealed a non-conforming gender identity, coupled with a campaign to help celebrate everyone on the spectrum.

Yesterday she launched #InstaPride, a project in partnership with Instagram to encourage transgender, gender fluid and agender individuals to share their stories and give them a platform for positive exposure. So far the submissions have ranged from personal portraits to inspirational quotes to cereal art spam.

#InstaPride is an extension of Miley Cyrus’s The Happy Hippie Foundation, founded to aid homeless LGBTQ youth. This all comes on the heels of Cyrus uncovering huge revelations about her own sexuality and gender, saying she crosses all boundaries in both respects, admitting to Paper, “I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.”

She’s not a boy or a girl. She’s just bein’ Miley.

She’s Just Being Miley: The Happy Hippie Foundation Launches to Support LGBTQ Youth

Congratulations to Miley Cyrus on her just-launched Happy Hippie foundation which works to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations. Watch her emotional backyard session with Joan Jett, and make a contribution if you can.

Miley Cyrus has long been an outspoken advocate for being yourself. From dying her armpits pink to swinging ass-naked on her wrecking ball to her debut as a visual artist at the Jeremy Scott show last fall, whatever Miley does, the phrase “she’s just being Miley” echoes.

With her Disney days far behind her, Cyrus is using her voice and her platform (18.8 million Instagram followers) to support those for whom society makes it a little harder to just “be yourself.” With The Happy Hippie Foundation, launched with a partnership with Facebook (47 million likes), Miley will share updates and exclusive Backyard Sessions that encourage viewers to donate.

The first, which you can watch below, features Cyrus and Joan Jett in a duet of Jett’s song “Different,” an appropriate choice for the organization, which aims to “fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations,” the website states.

In celebration of Cyrus’s commitment to individuality, a look back at all the many ways she’s just being Miley…and looking incredible doing just that.

Miley Cyrus is looking damn sultry in the images just released for her upcoming collaboration with MAC. She’s the latest in a string of mega popstars to lend her mug to the campaign which donates ALL of it’s profits to men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS.

Look out for her upcoming Viva Glam Miley Cyrus lipstick–an amplified hot pink hue, and accompanying Viva Glam Miley Cyrus lipglass, a hot pink with sparkling pearl in January.

10 Fashion Moments from the 2014 VMAs That Deserve Recognition

Without the formality of a show like the Oscars, the VMA Awards allow our favorite stars a night of creativity and fun when it comes to red carpet fashions. We get everything from gorgeous and sexy, to misguided and batshit. Since the program is an awards show, here are my own fashion awards for the night–

Best Shameless Self-Promotion: Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj was in full Anaconda mode following the music video release that shattered records with almost 20 million views in 24 hours. Clad in a Saint Laurent sequined snakeskin ensemble, Minaj kept makeup and accessories light —  a sweet reminder that she has a gorgeous face, even without bubblegum lipstick. Get it girl.

Best I Woke Up Like This: Beyoncé
Beyoncé was late and looked fancier than most–because why not. The Nicolas Jebran Couture gown isn’t my favorite thing she’s ever worn, and her earrings are verging on cartoon-big, but her soft waves are gorgeous and her skin in glowing. HOWEVER, the custom Tom Ford bejeweled leotard she performed her 16 minute long BEYONCÉ medley in was truly flawless.

Boobs: Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian wore a beaded Balmain (no surprise) mini that showed off her butt and boobs, which, to be fair, is understandable given that she is often between her much taller younger sisters Kendall and Kylie in photos. She looked gorgeous, and honestly, it’s not like Kim requires a special occasion for this amount of cleavage.

Best Effort to Try Something New: Taylor Swift
A bold departure from her old-country-singing-blush-toned gowns, Taylor Swift wore an alphabet printed blue onesie by Mary Katrantzou. I love Katrantzou’s surrealist-inspired prints but this did not do it for me. Taylor’s got legs for miles (see: her obsession with ModelFit on Bowery) and seemed to be having fun in the piece, but I’d have preferred a mini-dress or a less random seeming pattern. Still–if Taylor the pop singer wants to experiment with new styles, bring it on.

Best Timeless Glamour: Rita Ora
Rita Ora’s apple red Donna Karan Atelier gown slit up to her hip on one side was old Hollywood glamour at its best. Simple, sexy, and classic. Very Marilyn!

MILF-in-Chief: Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani wore a matching hot pink and black bustier and pants that looked like they were literally made for her–because they were, by her own line, L.A.M.B.

Best Please-Let-Me-Look-This-Good-When-I’m-45: J.Lo
J.Lo’s Charbel Zoe gown had more cutouts than not, and she rocked it–leg-slit, sparkle, and all. Here’s hoping she wore sunblock.

Best “Can-Be-Tamed”: Miley Cyrus
Miley wore a two-piece leather getup by Alexander Vaulthier —  sleek and mature. Leather outfits have been and are still stylish, and Miley’s hair–a simple crop in lieu of last year’s nubby side buns –looked adult and sophisticated paired with her simple silver heels.

Best WTF: Amber Rose
Amber Rose looked like she was wearing a tangle of Swarovski jewelry I liked in my tween years, and it made J.Lo’s dress look conservative. It just looks so uncomfortable!

Best Throwback: Katy Perry (with Riff Raff)
Katy Perry paid homage to queen of the early aughts in head-to-toe denim, throwing it back to Brit and J.T. circa 2001. She tweeted in advance: “WE’RE GOIN FOR DA BEST WORST DRESSED TODAY  #THISISHOWWEDOVMAS.” Nailed it.
