Last year’s inaugural Festival of Disruption made so many other festivals look feeble-minded, bringing together the likes of Robert Plant, Deborah Harry, John Malkovich, Frank Gehry and Twin Peaks‘ Laura Dern and Kyle MacLachlan, for a weekend of music, art and thought-provoking pontification. It was lorded over by the one, the only David Lynch, who will once again be a central figure – curator, to be precise – in this year’s edition (October 14-15)..
Joining him will be another head-spinning lineup of cultural giants, including The Kills, Moby, Laura Marling, TV on the Radio, artists Shepard Fairey, Ed Ruscha, and William Eggleston, comedians Bill Hader and Pete Holmes, and actor Bill Pullman. They will return to the original scene of disruption, The Theatre at the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles.
Just as with 2016, net proceeds from the event will go to to benefit the David Lynch Foundation, which uses Transcendental Meditation to treat serious trauma victims, such as survivors of domestic abuse and those suffering from PTSD.
