Supermodel Agyness Deyn, who made an appearance on the runway at Anna Sui in New York and Henry Holland in London this Fashion Week, isn’t the only Deyn with an appetite for fashion. It turns out her 17-year-old sister, Emily, has a similar penchant for clothing — so much so that she’s launching a fashion line with long-time friend Aliyah Hussein. The collection in question will solely include T-shirts for starters. Aggy was spotted sporting the fruits of her sis’ hard work backstage at Sui’s FW09 show. The tee in question pays “homage to none other than Queen Elizabeth II, whom Emily called ‘the original gangster!’” says Nylon.
“The shirts are part of an ongoing project called ‘Long may she reign’ about British patriotism and our lovely Queen Liz’,” says Hussein. Whether or not the project came before Aggy’s recent appearance in Love Magazine, outfitted as Queen Elizabeth II — an iconic image accompanied by an interview about why exactly the model loves the royal family, and, particularly, Queen Liz — I’m not sure. Suffice to say that the Deyns are vying for the title of the royal figure’s number-one fans. Proceeds from T-shirt sales will support the project; T-shirts are up for grabs via Deyn and Hussein’s blog.
