pf_main_green.jpgThere were so many environmentally-correct collections shown during L.A.’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week that the hot color for spring is most definitely greenand retailers are hoping that organic cotton blends generate some greenbacks, too. Barneys has already picked up the line Evidence of Evolution, which makes men’s jackets, jeans, and T-shirts, and womens dresses, and whose show was a hot ticket under the Smashbox tents this week. Also making big waves: original organic fabric designer Linda Loudermilk, who showed her spring collection of ornately designed dresses at the BP gas station on Olympic and Robertson with windmills making the dresses billow. Loudermilk will open a giant boutique and spa on Melrose Avenue in February, and then a flagship in Manhattan, following. By the way, nobody actually showed one green piece of clothing. Merle Ginsberg
